
Erin Sweeney lives and works in southern New Hampshire. She received her MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she was awarded the Elizabeth C. Roberts Prize for Graduate Book Arts. She also has a BFA in Sculpture from the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine.
Sweeney exhibits nationally, most recently at the Museum of the White Mountains and at the Hancock Town Library, as well as at her own Brick House Arts, all in New Hampshire. In 2019, she was awarded a Ruth and James Ewing Award for Excellence in the Arts, and in 2020, was a juror for the Awards.
Additionally, Sweeney is the Coordinator of the Art Education program and Associate Professor of the Practice at Plymouth State University. In 2021, she was the recipient of the NH Art Educators' Association's Outstanding Service award for her Art Table project.
Sweeney teaches workshops at Brick House Arts and travels to teach at many locales, including Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine; North Country Studio Workshops in Bennington, Vermont; Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, Washington; the Wells College Book Arts Center and Paper and Book Intensive in Michigan.
She has been an educator for twenty-five years, and is a member of the NH State Council on the Arts’ Teaching Artist Roster.
She can also install septic pipe and rake gravel for extended periods of time.
